The expectation of the University of Computer Studies, Loikaw is for not only performing with great effort to spread and systematic study about Computer, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with the aim of advance and being standard and also carrying out the beneficial tasks for country but also performing to be able to stand as a society possessing the skillful technicians and human resource rich in the technology of computer and ICT and being able to represent and advance more the existing Computer and ICT.
On the top of that, the aims of the University of Computer Studies, Loikaw are at performing to be official position being able to create the innovations and the technology of Computer and ICT that does not yet exist in the society and to reach the level of National Center for Computer and ICT of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
University of Computer Studies, Loikaw was opened as computer training center at the office of the Union Solidarity and Development Association (USDA) in 2001, February 21 according to the program of USDA. In 2003, March 27 it was opened as Government Computer Collage (GCC) and it has been upgraded to University level since 2007, January 2020.
To train and foster the students to become the international qualified and skillful scientific researchers and ICT technicians requirable in the sector of ICT, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
The objectives of the University of Computer Studies, Loikaw are as follows:

Personally on behalf of Rector of the University of Computer Studies, Loikaw (UCS-Loikaw), Kayah State, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, I would like to offer a very warm and hearty welcome to our University. This visit is a great honor to us.
The University of Computer Studies, Loikaw which was firstly founded in 2001 as a training institute of Information Technology, is situated in Loikaw, Kayah State, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. Since it was firstly founded, up to 800 graduates have been cultivated until now. Nowadays there are over 500 regular students enrolled in the degree programs of Computer Science and Computer Technology. Also nearly 600 trainees are studying in Human Resource Development programme. We will soon have the postgraduate diplomatic program such as the Diploma of Computer Science (D.C.Sc) and also have the postgraduate programmes such as Master of Computer Science (M.C.Sc), Master of Computer Technology (M.C.Tech) and Ph.D program after approving the permission from the Ministry of Education.
At the same time, pleasant weather condition and positive and conducive learning environment for students and proper working life for the staff are also the attractions of our University. Furthermore, our University has the most modern facilities such as multimedia language lab, computerized labs with the best equipment and projectors, some kinds of indoor and outdoor sports facility and healthful and economical canteen. We will soon have the comfortable hostels for our students and will provide the convenient accommodation and also meet the essential facilities for students.
We seek to foster our students to become creative thinkers, expert technicians, professionals and reflective learning and to be able to perform a decisive duty of the society. We are eager to make sure that students’ basic skills, concepts and theory studied at the University can inspire their own perceptions of creative thinking and also authentically useful in their practical works and respective computer fields. We also focus on the students to become the professionals who have full of competencies and are able to handle the difficulties and challenges faced in ICT sectors and in the real world beyond their learning activities, theoretical thinking skills and subjects that they have studied at the University.

Dr. Aung Myint Aye was born in South Okkalapa, Yangon, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. He received B.E(Information Technology) from Yangon Technological University, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in 2002. After getting his bachelor degree, he was selected for scholarship program to Russian Federation in 2002. He received M.E(Information Technology) from Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology, M.I.E.T, Russian Federation in 2005. He also received his Ph.D degree in wireless communication system at M.I.E.T, Russian Federation in 2008. He has currently been an associate professor and head of the department of Information Technology, Mandalay Technological University, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar. His research interests are in the areas of wireless communications and radio wave propagation system.
